Erroneous Year in Date Field Causes Technical Y Non-translatable Error

When a date is entered in a date field, a validation takes place to make sure the date complies to the format of dd/MM/yyyy. Most deviations from this format or erroneous dates are handled by a popup error message as soon as you leave the field. If an error is made in the year component (like 01/01/20178 -- extra digit) the following technical error is displayed after saving:
GEN-ORA-ERR: A database error occurred: "setDate, Exception = Invalid year value"
In a Spanish language environment the part between the quotes is not translated.
In a Spanish language environment the error may not be understood.
