Convergence init-config - Fails With Special Characters In .aspasswd File (Doc ID 2253665.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When running the Convergence init-config script, if the admin password for the Glassfish server instance contains a dollar sign "$", the script will not correctly copy the password to the /var/opt/sun/comms/iwc/config/.aspasswd file. The dollar sign and any characters following it are truncated.

For example, the password "goldfi$h" is entered in the script at the prompt:

When you check the .as_pass_iwc file it contains only one line as follows:

AS_ADMIN_PASSWORD=goldfi

When the init-config script attempts to use the password file that has been truncated, it fails because the Glassfish admin password is incorrect.
