EBS: SNO: Displays Different Solve Times When Solving Though UI And Console (Doc ID 2255033.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 22, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Strategic Network Optimization - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

SNO - (This is SNO standalone)
Build Number - version 12.2 (C646)

SNO displays different solve times when solving though UI and Batch (console) when solving the same model. The system Resources are also considerably
higher using Batch vs UI. Memory Consumption and Processing CPU is much higher in Batch

1. In UI the solve time is 577 seconds (which is satisfactory for us)
2. When loading and solving the same .sym file in batch mode (symloadfile,
solve) the solve time is 4700 seconds (which is not satisfactory)

SNO Build Number - version 12.2 (C646)
The log files I sent are from Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.
Also tried: Windows 7 Home SP1 and some breeds of Linux - the result is the same - batch mode takes longer and uses more resources. For every OS I ran
both UI and batch modes so that the comparison is apples to apples.
