Cannot Save a Record as Draft if It Contains Any Summary Elements (Doc ID 2257355.1)

Symptoms

A system error is thrown when trying to open a Business Process (BP) saved in draft form if it contains any summary elements, even when the summary elements are not on any forms.

NOTE:  BP Record works fine if it has a query tab and no summary elements.

After making design modifications to add workflows to an existing BP records can no longer be created and sent forward in any workflow. While a window with the create form will open, and data can be entered, the record cannot be sent forward in the workflow as the following Unifier Notification is thrown:

  Unifier Notification: The system could not process your request. Logging in again may help in some cases. Contact your System Administrator if you are still having problems.

NOTE: The user can Save the new record as a Draft, the same Unifier Notification is thrown trying to open the Draft record once it is saved and closed.

STEPS to Replicate

  1. Navigate to the appropriate BP
  2. Click New
  3. Fill out some data, or not, it doesn't matter
  4. Click Save. A window opens that says, "Draft has been saved."
  5. Go to Collaboration > Drafts and click the draft BP.
  6. Click Open
  7. Note: This is when the Unifier notification is thrown - "The system could not process your request", etc"
