Unifier Inbound Email to Project/Shell Mailboxes using Microsoft Office 365 Cloud-based Email Service (Doc ID 2264467.1)

NOTE: This document is directed towards self-hosted environments using the 3rd party email service 'Microsoft Office 365' which is a cloud-based email service.

After successfully installing any version of Unifier and configuring the email settings on the Unifier Configurator's Email tab, inbound emails are not being processed into Unifier Project/Shell Mailboxes.


  1. Users are able to succesfully send emails outbound from Unifier to external email addresses. This uses the SMTP account populated in the Unifier Configurator.
  2. After adding users to the Unifier 'Approved Email List', external users send an email to the Project/Shell email address but the email is not processed into the Project/Shell.
NOTE: When the "sending" domain is the same as the Unifier inbound email address (for example sending from to, it appears Office 365 will remove the prefix (1001-), and Unifier will not process the email.  There is no known solution for this issue at this time.  This issue needs to be presented to the application having the issue, it is not an issue with Unifier.
