Last updated on MAY 18, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Insurance Policy Administration J2EE - Version 9.6.1.26 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

OIPA system behaves differently when Computation rule is used instead of PolicyValues in attached rule ScheduledValuation.

Previous approach:
ScheduledValuation attached rule calls PolicyValues rule.

Query used in ScheduledValuation attached rule:
SELECT AsPolicy.PolicyGUID FROM AsPolicy JOIN AsPlan ON AsPlan.PlanGUID = AsPolicy.PlanGUID and AsPlan.PlanName IN ('Plan A', 'Plan B' , 'Plan C')

Scenario:
Add plan level activity for Plan A and process.

Output:
OIPA selects all three plans mentioned in the query i.e., Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for processing. AsValuesRequest table has records for policies which belong to Plan A, Plan B and Plan C.

New approach:
ScheduledValuation attached rule calls Computation rule.

Output:
OIPA selects Plan A for processing, Plan B and Plan C are not considered.  AsComputationRequest table has records for Plan A policies after processing.
