Symptoms

When attempting to save the current set of Impacted Customers in a switch plan, there were intermittent failures.

These were in the NMS managed server log --

2017-05-09 15:01:29,607 ERROR swman.SwmanServiceImpl:171 - createImpactedCustomers failed
2017-05-09 15:43:50,178 ERROR swman.SwmanServiceImpl:171 - createImpactedCustomers failed
2017-05-10 09:11:13,467 ERROR swman.SwmanServiceImpl:171 - createImpactedCustomers failed

The error in each case pertains to a database ‘unique constraint’ error:

Internal Exception: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (NMS.SWMAN_ISN_U01)

That constraint at was

CONSTRAINT SWMAN_ISN_U01 UNIQUE (SEQ_SHEET_ID, SUPPLY_IDX, BEGIN_STEP_IDX)
