Is it possible to disable all audio alerts in Convergence?
It is understood that users can disable audio alerts in Convergence for when a new email is received or for notification of an IM chat session under Options -> Global -> Sound Alerts, but this is a little different from that. In this case, users are behind a set of proxy servers that use Windows AD for authentication. It is seamless to the users, in that they do not type in a username or password; it is handled by a plugin on the Active Directory side. However, when they load Convergence, it gets down to where it will load the audioAlert.mp3 and in Internet Explorer, that is handed off to a media player that isn't "authenticated" like Internet Explorer and Firefox are. The result is that users receive a pop-up box asking them to type in their username and password. Since the users don't know how the proxying is done, this box confuses them. If the audio alerts were completely disabled, this would not happen.
What is needed is the ability to completely disable audio alerts so Convergence is not attempting to launch audio at all.
