Calendar Reminder Received By OnBehalfUser For Cancelled Event (Doc ID 2280426.1)

Last updated on JUNE 29, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Event reminder notification is received by delegated calendar manager (acting on behalf of calendar owner) even if event already cancelled.

Setup: : userA (organizer), userB(manager), userC(assistant manager for userB)

To make userC manage userB's  calendar, following steps had been performed:

./davadmin calendar modify -n calendar -a userB@domain.com -y acl="userC@domain.com:a" -W

./davadmin account modify -a userB@domain.com -y acl="@:s;userC@domain.com:m" -W

./davadmin account modify -a userB@domain.com -y delegate_notifaddr=userC@domain.com -W

To have the Calendar Server send email notifications for the calendar events, following configuration are in place

notification.dav.enableemailnotif=true
notification.dav.enableimipemailnotif=true

Steps to reproduce the problem. Each step preceeded by timestamp

12:20 userA creates an event (today 12:30) and invites userB
12:21 userC receives notification message about the event
12:21 userC accepts the invite and sets a reminder (1 min before the event)
12:22 userA cancels the event
12:22 userC receives email notification about the event cancellation
12:29 userC receives reminder for the event already cancelled

Expected behaviour is: userC  should not receive reminder  about the cancelled event

Problem can be replicated even if no calendar delegation is in place

Setup: userA (organizer) invites userD

12:20 userA creates an event (today 12:30) and invites userD
12:21 userD receives notification message about the event
12:21 userD accepts the invite and sets a reminder (1 min before the event)
12:22 userA cancels the event
12:22 userD receives email notification about the event cancellation
12:29 userD receives reminder for the event already cancelled

Expected behaviour is: userD  should not receive reminder  about the cancelled event
