Search Terms No Longer Auto Correct After Upgrade from MDEX 6.2.2 (Doc ID 2280576.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 24, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Guided Search / Oracle Commerce Experience Manager - Version 6.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading from MDEX 6.2.2 to MDEX 6.5.2, the same search query used against the same data no longer produces auto-corrected results in 6.5.2.  In addition, receiving no search results for certain searches, which used to return results before upgrade.

For instance, in 6.2.2 MDEX a search for "track suit" (no quotes) got autocorrected to "tracksuit" and returned 667 results. When re-indexing that same forge_output on 6.5.2 and issuing the same query, the search no longer autocorrects, and returns 0 records.

This is happening for multiple use-cases similar to this, where "rain suit" no longer autocorrects to "rainsuit", leading to 0 results.

Changes

Example Changes:

Upgraded MDEX version from 6.2.2 to 6.5.2.

Upgraded Oracle Commerce Guided Search from 11.0 to 11.3 (which includes MDEX upgrade).
