Comparison of Optimized Profile Generation Parameters in SPO (Doc ID 2281367.1)

Last updated on JULY 03, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Size Profile Optimization - Version 15.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Size Profile Optimization (SPO), while comparing results of optimized and normalized methods of profile generation, it was observed that during the optimized method the system is generating profiles which are "smoothed out".

For example,

                     30          31        32         33         34          36        38

Optimised    10.06%  8.67%  20.97%  11.28%  22.78%  17.33%  8.90%
Normalised  11.81%  2.36%  24.02%   2.36%   28.74%  20.87%  9.84%

In this run all the parameters were same.
Notice the difference in size 31 and 33. In optimized method the percentage is increased.

1. Is there a parameter which can be used to regulate the "level of opitmisation" done by the algorithm?
2. What is purpose of angle ratio in the system? Currently we are using .99 as angle threshold . If we set this number .50 will system give a different profile? Our question is how does angle ratio make a difference in the profiles.
