Symptoms

PROBLEM STATEMENT

MSS Release: 6.2.1.b495 version, Engineering

Users are unable to remove node from SONET network system.

When saving a network system after removing a node, an error pops up stating a child assignment exists.
All associated equipment and circuits have been removed from service.
User is unable to delete the node and remove the system from service.

ERROR

sqlerror:1 java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: ORA-02292

java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException:
ORA-02292: integrity constraint (ASAP.FK_PO_AD__NS_CO) violated - child record found

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Remove all associated equipment and circuits from the SONET network system.
  2. Right-click a component and choose Delete option
  3. MSS throws the error message 3 times.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Users are unable to remove network system from service, and cannot re-use the same system ID.
