Symptoms

When attempting to upgrade a P6 Professional database, the following error occurs:

The specified database is a P6 Professional database. It cannot be upgraded to P6 EPPM (Enterprise Project Portfolio Management).

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Launch the dbsetup.bat utility in the P6 EPPM media ~\database folder.
  2. Enter the database connection information and click Next.
  3. The reported error occurs.
