Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When migrating from Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) 7.3.5.1 / 6.1.1 to 8.0.2, when running extract_from_source.sh, you get the following message in the extract_from_source.log:

[2017.02.14 - 15:59:34 PM EST] Extract-operation reported success, but dump [/app/utility/Migration/metadata/archive/PFT.DMP] not found!

Checking the web server's FUSIONSUBSYSTEMSService.log, the log appears to end while the process is still performing export actions.  There is no message indicating the migration completes successfully.  There is no error.

In the Websphere web server, there is a heapdump. The following message exists in javacore.20170214.155930.14302.0002.txt:

1TISIGINFO Dump Event "systhrow" (00040000) Detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError" "Java heap space" received
1TIDATETIME Date: 2017/02/14 at 15:59:32

Finally, the Webspehre SystemOut.log shows the web server may be hung:

Note: You may see similar errors in Weblogic or Tomcat specific logs.

As a result of these errors, the migration process appears to fail to create the extract PFT.DMP file.
