LDAP Users Fails to Login to Agile PLM Application with Error "Invalid User ID or Password" and Lots of <Cached group membership for {group} : null> Generated In WebLogic LDAP Debug Log (Doc ID 2291571.1)

Symptoms

When Attempting to login to Agile Web/Java Client with Microsoft Active Directory LDAP user, the following error occurs:

Invalid user ID or password


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to Web Logic admin console, and enable LDAP debug log by following Note:1076242.1
  2. Go to Security Realms > Agile Realm > Users and Groups > Users, and see the LDAP user is shown in the list
  3. Access to Web Client.
  4. Give username and password of LDAP user.
  5. Gets error "Invalid user ID or password" in the Web Client screen.
  6. Check agilePCWebLogic log, and search for the username, and see <authentication succeeded> meaning the user authentication succeed with LDAP provider:
