Import Validation Returns Error With 12 Maxlength Autonumber Item Part (Doc ID 2292813.1)

Symptoms

Import validation return Error if Autonumber Item Part is Maxlength:12

Error

While performing Length validation for 'Parts.Title Block.Number', the following message was received: Length violation: value '100000000000102' exceeds the configured maximum length of 12


Step

  1. Class:Part-> User Interface tab:Title Block
    Attribute:Title Block:Number:MaxLength 12
  2. Define AutoNumber:AutoNumber1
  3. Define New Subclass:AutoNumberImport1
    AutoNumber Required:No
    AutoGenerate:No
    AutoNumber Source:AutoNumber1
  4. Login to Web Client
    Tool->Import
    Import File:Test.xlsx
    template type:standard,no template
    select Worksheet:Sheet0
    Location of Header Row:1
    Location of Last Row:N/A
    Specify File Content:Item only
    Select Content Option
    Data Mapping:Define attribute mapping in next step
    Data Transformation:No transformation are necessary
    Redline Options:Updates do not require redlining
  5. Click Validate
    Warnings: 5 Errors: 1 Fatal Errors: 0
    Line 2:While performing Length validation for 'Parts.Title Block.Number', the following message was received: Length violation: value '100000000000102' exceeds the configured maximum length of 12
  6. Click Import
    Result:
    Item <Created>1(0 rejected,0 ignored )Item1(0 rejected,0 ignored )
    Message:
    The 'AutoNumberImport1' object '<item number>' which doesn't exist in system was created during import.The autonumber '<item number>' was generated for new object
