Mandatory Patch On Top Of BRM 7.5 MPS1 Only (Doc ID 2293944.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.0.0 to 7.5.0.18.0 [Release 7.5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

Introducing a mandatory patch with an improved version of update_bill_closed_t.source which was known to cause performance issue.

On BRM 7.5, while upgrading from previous patch Sets ( e.g: PS1, ... PS9, PS10, PS11, PS12) to Maintenance Patch Set 1 (7.5MPS1), upgrade script "pin_75_75MPS1upgrade.pl" might have performance issue - like taking a large amount of time when bill_t table has bulk data.update_bill_closed_t.source : This script will create the closed_t column in the bill_t table and also update the data.

Actions

<Patch 26266362> is release to fix this issue. This patch is meant to be installed on Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management  Release 7.5.0 RTW + MPS1 (21513185)

Recommendation:

1. If customer is coming to 7.5MPS1 from previous patchsets, we recommend them to install this mandatory patch_32_opt.bin and before running the upgrade DB script "pin_75_75MPS1upgrade.pl".

2. After 75MPS1 upgrade , if customer has plans to upgrade to further patchsets (75PS14, PS15, PS16, PS17 and PS18) then customer need not run the file "update_bill_closed_t.source" while upgrading, as this has been taken care during MPS1+mandatory patch upgrade. It is recommended for customers to skip running the file "update_bill_closed_t.source" by commenting below line in the UpdateMe.pl script .

             75,PS8,SQL,update_bill_closed_t.source,,,,,

3. In 75PS19, will make OOB changes to remove the script from upgrade framework.
