Symptoms

While accessing the Empirica Signal URL the following error message displays: '"The system failed to initialize properly. Please contact your system administrator" .

Changes

The issue may occur after Empirica Signal installation. 

Review the weberror log file.

The Null listener error suggests that the Listener_properties file does not exist or cannot be found in the defined path.

Navigate to the directory where the Listener_properties file is located.

The above image displays a typo in the Listener name.

Confirm the file location as well:

The above image displays a base directory of U02. Hosted environments use U01 as a base directory.

This is ok as long as it is used consistently during installation.
