SCTP Parameters Are Not Configurable In Diameter Gateway (Doc ID 2301815.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 11, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 11.3.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On Oracle Communications Elastic Charging Engine(ECE), 11.3.0.0.0 version, Diameter Gateway(DGW), the below Stream Control Transmission Protocol(SCTP) parameters are not configurable in the DGW Application configurations.

Parameters

maxInStreams
maxOutStreams
receive
sendBufferSize

Currently these parameters are not configurable in the application and exact values are inherited from Operating System defaults. This may be fine for Solaris OS where the defaults are configurable, but in Linux it is limited to (immutable) Kernel defaults.

Expected improvements

SCTP parameters maxInStreams, maxOutStreams, receive and sendBufferSize should be configurable in Diameter Gateway Application configuration.

Business Impact

Default values may not fit to configuration of the network elements and may impact performance.
