When Analtyics data is Missing Can We Run Reprocess Package to Fix it? (Doc ID 2302190.1)

The reprocess package should only be run when all the data from the time of the current batch processing date forward is available to reprocess.  Reprocess needs to be run completely and successfully.  If it does not then when tables are recreated the main package will fail.  If it does not run completely rerun it.  There is no harm in running it multiple times.

In 8.5 and 8.6 reprocess works to delete data from fact tables, aggregation tables and staging tables in the reporting database and to reset the data as not processed in the staging database from and including the date of the current batch processing date. The dimension tables data is not altered. This gives the most accurate data if all the data from that date is going to be reprocessed. Generally if ODI fails it is best if that is caught on the day it fails so that reprocessing is minimal. So if there is a failure in ODI processing, and the notifications of failure are set up correctly in ODI for failure, this should be run as soon as possible so that processing is not falling behind.

The Analytics Administrative Guide explains how to set up notifications on page 24 - Configuring Email Notification for Event Processing and Data Aggregation
