OC3C Scripts Called from the Crontab Fail to Find "nawk" (Doc ID 2302684.1)

Last updated on APRIL 27, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.0 and later
Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On all versions of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C) on Oracle Linux (OL) only, a problem exists where any script called from the crontab will fail to invoke nawk if the actual nawk is installed.

By default, nawk on OL is a softlink to gawk:

$ which nawk | xargs ls -lh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Sep  2  2016 /<DIR>/nawk -> gawk

If the actual nawk package is installed, then every script which calls nawk and is invoked from the crontab will fail and throw the error:

nawk: not found

Changes

Installation of the nawk package.
