Performance Degradation Loading 'All Timesheets' Toggle on Timesheet Approval Page, and High JVM Memory Usage When Filter Is Set to a Large Start / End Range (Doc ID 2303635.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 11, 2017

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 16.2.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When loading the Timesheet Approval page, the initial loading of page is successful.  After the page initially loads and the All Timesheets toggle is selected, loading a large amount of timesheet data (based on a large threshold for Start/End Date and all status options selected) causes page-loading performance degradation.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The All Timesheets view in the Timesheet Approval page loads quickly when loading a large amount of data.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to P6 Web.
2. Click the Dashboard dropdown menu and select Approve Timesheets.
3. After initial load (set to approving as Project Manager), select All Timesheets.
4. Select Custom filter (if not selected) and set:
    -- Start Date to 1/30/00
    -- End Date to 5/20/17
5. Under Status select:  Approved, Not Started, Not Submitted, PM Approved, Rejected, Resubmitted, RM Approved, Submitted.
6. Select Apply.
7. Note the performance delay which occurs.

OR

(If the initial All timesheets filters were already set to load a large amount of data):
1. Login to P6 Web.
2. Click the Dashboard dropdown menu and select Approve Timesheets.
3. After initial load (set to approving as Project Manager), select All Timesheets.
4. Note the performance degradation.
