Unconstrained Plan Unexpectedly Showing Multiple Planned Orders On Same Day Satisfying Single Demand For An Item/Organiization (Doc ID 2312733.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.2.5 version, Memory Based Planner in Test:

Users are on 12.2.5 and have applied patch 22493520. They're using 64 bit Linux MBP with version MSONWL64.ppc 120.15.12020000.42 - Users are running an unconstrained ASCP plan and they're seeing multiple planned orders due on the same day for one demand even though profile MSC:Split Planned Orders for Scheduling Flexibility = No and there are no order modifiers to account for the multiple orders. Example data:

Item = 81574103
Org = MRP:Z51 - demand org
No order modifiers

Org = MRP:HY - supply org
FLM = 6
Min Ord qty = 12
Max Ord qty = 288

In Org MRP:Z51 there is a single sales order demand qty = 740 due 17-NOV-2017. There are 2 planned orders for supply generated for this demand both for qty = 370

Users expect only 1 planned order for supply to meet a single demand on a given date

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run Unconstrained ASCP plan
2. Review supply demand output in the ASCP workbench
3. Users see many items with single demands on a given date for a given item/org combination having multiple supply planned orders created to satisfy the single demand
