NullPointerException When Adding/Saving Role (Doc ID 2314563.1)

When adding/saving a role, the screen shows that the system is working in the back end. However no confirmation message is received. When looking in the SystemOut.log file, the error received is :

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.adminserver.sre.bll.BaseScreenEventProcessorBll.setValue(

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Click on PolicyRoles. Select Contingent Owner and click save. Nothing happens on the screen – should receive a confirmation that the save was successful. Also you can try to add another Contingent Owner Role and you will get the error. The role will not be saved.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, Blocking users from adding roles to policies.
