Cannot Manually Change Task Due Time on Backward Tasks (Doc ID 2318693.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : MSS 6.3.0 version, Work Management

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
-----------------------

Users cannot change the task due TIME (through task maintenance) on tasks that are set up as BACKWARDS on the provision plan.

For example, if a user goes  into Task Maintenance on an open order and change a task time from 5PM (which is the COB that we default to) to 2PM, the time will change fine if the task is marked as FORWARD on the provision plan. However, if he tries  to change the time on a task that is marked as BACKWARDS on the provision plan, the time will not change. It will instead keep the time as 5PM, but change the date to the day before.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-------------------------------
Users should be allowed to change the task-due -TIME (through task maintenance) on tasks that are set up as BACKWARDS on the provision plan.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1-Go into Task Maintenance on an open order .
2-Change a task time from 5PM (which is the COB that we default to) to 2PM, the time will change fine if the task is marked as FORWARD on the provision plan.
3-But if I try to change the time on a task that is marked as BACKWARDS on the provision plan, the time will not change. It will instead keep the time as 5PM, but change the date to the day before.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
This is happening in all of our environments (DEV, UAT, and PROD). Our Project Management team wants to be able to start manually setting the times of our NOC groups tasks , most of which have Backward tasks.
