Solidworks Drawing Save Window Not Displayed For Unsaved Data (Doc ID 2319700.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector - Version 3.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using MCAD connector 3.4 upon using Create drawing from Part/Assembly, before Save preview the Solidworks Save As dialog displays enabling the user to save the Drawing with the Drawing Number. In MCAD connector 3.5 the same feature will instead auto saves the drawing with "Drawing1.SLDDRW".

Steps to reproduce:

  1. User creates a drawing from a Part/Assembly(eg: P001.sldprt). On Solidworks screen, the following drawing name is used (P001.slddrw).
  2. User selects the icon "Save all configurations to Agile". The drawing number changes from P001.slddrw to Drawing01.slddrw

Solidworks does not prompt for any "Save As" of Drawing, instead the Drawing Number is changed to "Drawing1/Drawing2/…", whereas the correct number should have been same as the Design number. E.g.: If Design Number is CT-3418.SLDPRT, then the Drawing Number should be CT-3418.SLDDRW.
