UIN Status Incorrect In SIM For Item Returns at Same Store as Sale (Doc ID 2325437.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 14.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Same Store Return performed in Point of Service (POS) does not update UIN Status in the ITEM_UIN table in Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (RSIM) to In Stock whereas cross store return updates the UIN Status to Unavailable.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Return a UIN item that was sold in Store A in the same Store
2. Return a UIN item that was sold in Store B in in Store A

Results:

1. If the return is performed at the store other than the original store where sale has happened, the status of the UIN in returned store is updated to In Stock. In this case, there is not much of validation against reason codes. If the transaction type is return and the current status of the UIN is 'Sold' then the status is set to In Stock.

2. If the return is performed in the same store, then the reason code is validated. If the disposition code is set to AVAILABLE_SOH_TO_UNAVAILABLE_SOH, then the status of the UIN is set to Unavailable, as the disposition itself states that its from available to unavailable.
