Metadata Publish (MDB) Exception - Message: Premature end of file

Symptoms

The Metadata Publish is not working. Metadata Browser (MDB) is showing no data found in all modules.

Tried rerunning MDB batch a couple of times without any success.  When running the same via Linux command line interface, the error below appears:

MDB Publish Exception occured com.sun.xml.internal.ws.streaming.XMLStreamReaderException: XML reader error: javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamException: ParseError at [row,col]:[1,1]
Message: Premature end of file.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to OFSAA
  2. Go to Object Administration tab -> OFSAAI -> Object Administration -> Metadata Browser
  3. Within Metadata Browser window, go to Objects tab -> OFSAA Metamodel -> Data Foundation -> Data mapping.
