Batch Failing with "illegally attempted to associate a proxy with two open Sessions"

Custom Java Batch that tries to log information using logInfo() API call in the batch run tree is intermittently failing with "org.hibernate.HibernateException: illegally attempted to associate a proxy with two open Sessions".
