Data Not Stored In AUDIT When Updated Using DTOs

We have a customer requirement to bulk update SP attributes using custom batch. There is AUDIT enabled on this already using the base provided audit trail program CIPZADTA.
The problem is the data is getting recorded in the CI_AUDIT tables when updated from front end but not getting recorded when updated via batch using DTOs.
