Cannot View New Messages Accessing Default IMAP Client On Android 5.1.1

Symptoms

Using:  Oracle Communications Messaging Server 8.0.1.1.0 64bit (built Jun 15 2016)

Unable to view new messages accessing default IMAP client on android 5.1.1

Some users have a problem seeing new email messages on their cellular phones, while these same users have no problem seeing new messages when they access their email using Convergence webmail or the IMAP client (Outlook or Thindebird).  The access from cellular is via IMAP client, which is the same as when they access with the IMAP client on their personal computer.

The chain to their access is:

- with IMAP client on personal computer (where the users see new messages):
IMAP client on pc -> Oracle IMAP proxy server -> Oracle Messaging Server store

- with IMAP client on cellular (where the users do not see new messages):
IMAP client on cellular -> customer private network -> Oracle IMAP proxy server -> Oracle Messaging Server store

For the affected users, tried reconfiguring the accounts, changing mobile phone types, but the accounts continue to not sync new messages.  In summary, if and email is sent to one of these users, the recipient can see the new messages on the IMAP client on their personal computer (Outlook or Thunderbird), but nothing is received on the cellular phone, even is the user tries to force the update.

On the cellular phone, automatic sync is configured.  The cellular phone is a Samsung Android with version 5.1.1
