Invalid Request / Error While Processing Request Accessing Application Preferences Screen After Struts Upgrade (Doc ID 2327697.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle Financial Services Asset Liability Management (ALM) 8.0.4, after upgrading to struts 2.3.32/2.3.34, when you select the "Application Preferences" link, the following message appears on the screen:

Invalid request / Error while processing request

Please contact your System Administrator for more information.

Additionally, the following error exists in the Weblogic <domain>.log:

       at org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.Dispatcher.init(Dispatcher.java:504)
       at org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.ng.InitOperations.initDispatcher(InitOperations.java:74)
       at org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.ng.filter.StrutsPrepareFilter.init(StrutsPrepareFilter.java:56)
       at weblogic.servlet.internal.FilterManager$FilterInitAction.run(FilterManager.java:374)
       etc.

As a result, you cannot access the Application Preferences screen.
