Length Mismatch On Service Point CITY Field Between CCB And MDM (Doc ID 2328376.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using Service Point Sync between Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CCB) and Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management (MDM), the length of CITY on Service Point in MDM is shorter than the one in CCB. The database field length in MDM is 30 bytes; however, the one in CCB is 90 bytes. If the CITY data having more than 30 bytes in CCB attempts to synchronize, an error occurs with the exceeded column length in MDM.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Add 30+ character CITY in CCB.
2. Sync to MDM.
3. Get error regarding column length.
