Storefront Servers are Unstable due to StackOverflowError Caused by a Content Group

After restarting storefront servers, users are not able to make a purchase at a site.

StackOverflowError is logged in storefront's server log.

It was also reported that the storefront servers were unstable.
About 10 minutes after the restart it stops responding with the accumulated threads in Hogging State.

Reproducible Steps:
1) Add a product into the cart
2) Go to the checkout page
3) Fill out shipping address 
4) Select a payment method
5) Click to confirm to make a purchase


No changes were made to the system.
