Updates On Franchise PO Dates Done Via Ediupack Batch Are Not Reflected On Franchise Orders

Franchise Purchase Orders (PO) are not editable in the system, but any update coming from eidupack batch are automatically applied. In RMS Operations Guide, Volume 1 - Batch Overviews and Designs, on ediupack batch design overview it is stated that "changes to Franchise PO through this program will not affect their associated Franchise orders.".
During franchise order creation, Need Date on Franchise order is reflected as Not Before Date on Franchise PO. If system allows update of Not Before Date on Franchise PO, it should also update Need Date on Franchise order. From business perspective, it does not make sense to have different Need Date and Not Before Date on Franchise order and Franchise PO.
Can it be explained what is the logic behind this?
