Authorization Granted More Than Free Bucket Amount (Doc ID 2335912.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.16.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management(BRM), 7.5.0.16.0 version,

Consider the below scenario, where it is observed that an authorization has granted more than free bucket amount up to availability of Data cap balance. This is wrong, authorization should allow only free bucket, and overage should be not allowed since spending limit on the customer has already reached.

Scenario:

Payee account is the owner of the discount sharing group. At owner level, there is a plan "xxx 5GB", which grants 5 GB per month and consists discount configuration to update the resource based on the consumption and discount the charges.

Subscription account is the member of the discount sharing group. At subscription level, there is " xxx Local Calling" plan.

Plan : xxx Local Calling
Deal : Data Usage
Product : 03MBCanUsg_Realtime
This product is used to rate the Data session

Customer balances are as below before processing the usage

Shared Data = -100 MB
Data Cap : -3
Current Balance : 152.78
Spending limit : 150
Rate is at 0.03/MB

Authorization request for 300 MB through pcm_op_tcf_aaa_authorize.

Output granted quantity = 200 MB
100 MB from shared data resource 1002043, which is correct.
Another 100 MB was charged at 0.03/MB and the same is deducted from Data Cap. This is incorrect. This 100 MB should not be granted and charged though Data Cap balance is available because customer has already reached spending limit. Expected granted quantity is 100 MB.
