How to Disable Change Password Button in Convergence 3? (Doc ID 2338736.1)

Last updated on MARCH 31, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 to 3.0.1 [Release 3.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

With a password policy in place and the Convergence option client.changepasswordpage set, when a user with an expired password tries to log in, he is informed that his password is expired and is presented with a 'Change Password' button that will redirect him to whatever the Convergence administrator had set for 'client.changepasswordpage'.

However, if 'client.changepasswordpage' is not set, the intended behavior is that users with an expired password should not be presented with the change password button. In Convergence 3 (up to version 3.0.1.4), this intended behavior is not fulfilled because of Bug 27082113 (fixed in Convergence 3.0.2.0.0).

This document provides a workaround for this problem in the form of Convergence customization code.  After applying the customization code presented in the Solution section of this document, the 'Change Password' button is disabled if the Convergence option 'client.changepasswordpage' is not set.
