After changes made to XML templates that change a required transient property to a required persistent property, errors occur when attempting to save changes to existing items.

There are two item descriptors defined in a repository: The super type and the sub type. The super type has a property (e.g. "displayName") which is inherited by the sub type. Originally this property is defined in the sub type as transient, but then a change is made to make to remove the overridden definition of this property from the sub type and to rely upon the original definition of the property that still exists in the super type: the property is mapped to a database column and is marked as required="true". With this revised configration in place, an error is logged when attempting to save an existing item belonging to the sub type.
