During Upgrade of IM 10.x, Messages Are Showing As History Between Newly Upgraded IM Server And All Other Peers
(Doc ID 2342209.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Communications Instant Messaging Server - Version 10.0.0 to 10.0.0 [Release 10.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Currently using IM 10u1-00.18 (10.0.1.0.0) in production, and upgrading an IM server to version 10u1-02.34 (10.0.1.2.0) in multi-node configuration.
Adium is showing messages as appearing as history with the newly upgraded IM Server:
From previous bug: Bug 24943328 - A Stanza Added To Messages Shows User As Offline And Msgs As History [FIXED in IM version 10.0.1.1.0]
The stanza is added to the messages sent to peer servers in the server pool. It's not being sent to users hosted on the same back end.
But Adium has this behavior that when you come into a chat and it shows history, it displays those messages slightly grey and blurred. Normally that is all history before any new messages, but what is happening here is that new current chat messages from the user on a different back end is appearing as this same "offline" or "delayed" slightly grey and blurred history mode.
Users who happen to be connected to the same backend (which currently also means they must be connected to the same front end) do not get the "offline" thing and therefore appear current/online/normal.
Messages from users who happen to be on a different back end from other users have the "delayed" appearance and also appear to be delayed/offline.
Messages are still delivered. The difference is only visible to Adium users.
Is this expected behavior until all the IM servers are upgraded?
