SMF Log File Timestamp Confusion (Doc ID 2346848.1)

Last updated on MARCH 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Indexing and Search Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

ISS processes write information to STDOUT but it does so with the timestamp in UTC, which is confusing.

For example, from /var/svc/log/application-jiss-indexSvc:default.log:

The first two lines and the last line above are normal from SMF. It shows the service was enabled and started successfully at 08:37 on 12/22.

In between those are confusing messages from seemingly 8 hours later.
