Date Seeding Script Is Not Inserting Data In WAREHOUSE_ITEM Table (Doc ID 2349612.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 15.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM) after the data seeding process is completed, the WAREHOUSE_ITEM table is not populated with data.

When data is picked from Retail Merchandising System (RMS), the script picks up only those items which are ranged to physical warehouses. However, since RMS is running in multi-channel mode, items are only ranged to virtual warehouses; hence, the script creates a warehouse_item.dat file with 0 items. This prevents users from performing operations involving the physical warehouse in SIM, such as returns.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Install SIM database;
2. Run data Seeding scripts to populate the SIM database;
3. Check WAREHOUSE_ITEM table and note that it is not populated, whereas in RMS items are ranged to virtual warehouses.
