Group and Sort Breaks in Visualizer When Selecting the Blank at the Top of the Drop Down Menu List (Doc ID 2352021.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version to [Release 15.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In the Group & Sort tab of Visualizer, in the "Group By" drop down option, selecting the arrow button on the blank entry at the top changes the group structure. Then refreshing breaks the group structure by making it a blank section of the page (no window or template). One has to cancel to regain the correct structure. If the project was saved before losing the grouping as above, the file has to be manipulated manually.

Grouping is maintained even when choosing a blank option. Refresh and choosing options maintains the integrity of the grouping.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. On an existing layout (TSLD or Gantt), access the tab group and sort. The layout should contain data in the Group by section and be saved (click Save if not).
2. Click the first line of the group by option and display the dropdown list.
3. Click the button « empty filter » (which is white in 15.2.10) or click in the search dropdown list. You can see that the first line data has disappeared.
4. Click somewhere else than the dropdown list to make it disappear. With the WBS example, the group options have been completely redefined regarding step 1.
5. Click the Refresh button. The grouping options have now completely disappeared.

1. If the users click Save or Save & Draw, their layout is not usable anymore.
2. If the users click Cancel, then the usage of the group and sort tab is restored.
3. If the users  export the layout, you have the following show up in the log:
With the issue: FieldAccessor="{X:Null}"
Without the issue: FieldAccessor="TheWBS"
4. If the users modify the export file to retrieve “TheWBS” condition and re-import the layout, the layout can then be used.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot save their layouts with the correct grouping.
