Item Lists Are Not Rebuilt Taking in Consideration the Users/creator Data Security Configuration (Doc ID 2353273.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

A user creates an Item-List with the Department as criteria and that the user has Access only to the selected Departments as Data Security Restriction. When you remove the Access to the Items from one of the Departments, (using FILTER_GROUP_MERCH table) and then Rebuild the Item-List, you notice that the Item-List is not updated (same amount of items for the selected Departments) based on the user's Data security config.

The Items tab in Item List screen shows Items for the Department for which the user has the Access, which is OK, but you do the filtering at the screen level since database wise it still has Items for the all the selected Departments.

Furthermore, if you use this Item-List in a Mass Change (for instance to update the comments of each Item in the Item-List) then you can see that all the Items get updated irrespective of the Access.

So you expect that since the user only sees the Department that has Access, a data security View should be used to the Mass Update, not the Actual Source List.

Please confirm if this scenario is a Product Defect?
