Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When P6 data is exported to Excel XSLX file format Chinese characters are displaying as '???' in Excel.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Exported Chinese characters to Excel XSLX file format display correctly and as Chinese characters in Excel.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create P6 SQL Server 2012 db with Collation: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.
  2. On P6 Client set System Locale equal to 'Chinese (Simplified).'
  3. Add Chinese characters in P6 Professional client.
  4. Export P6 Activities to Excel XLSX.
  5. Open Excel XLSX file in Excel 2013.
  6. Result: Chinese characters displaying as '???'.

Due to this issue, users cannot export Chinese characters to Excel.
