Inappropriate Processing Requested on Content-Type Text/x-watch-html by Client
(Doc ID 2356214.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Using:
Convergence 3.0.1.4.0
Messaging Server 8.0.2.2.20180122
When a particular email is viewed in Convergence, the user receives a popup that says:
"An error occurred while displaying the selected message."
At the same time, the following error is logged to the Messaging Server's http log:
Setting the following msconfig parameter in Messaging Server, does not seem to help:
# ./msconfig set http.suppresstypewarning 1
Refer to: https://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php?title=Suppresstypewarning_Option
It should also be noted that messages may contain [non-standard] content type which would have a multipart/alternative MIME structure, where maybe there are three alternatives... a text/plain for non-html-capable client, a text/x-watch-html part which contains a simplified html part suitable for display on smart watches, and a richer text/html part for display on regular-sized-screen html-capable clients.
This demonstrates another minor issue in that *both* the text/x-watch-html and text/html parts are displayed in Convergence despite the fact they are supposed to be *alternative* parts.
