Getting 530 5.7.1 Relaying Not Allowed When Sending SMTP Traffic To An External Domain (Doc ID 2364478.1)

Goal

Our domain is domain1.com. We don't use authentication for any our Outlook and Thunderbird clients. For a particular user account, if I send mail internally to an @domain1.com address, there is no problem. I can also send mail from Thunderbird internally or externally with no problem.

When using the Outlook 2016 client and sending to an external domain, we get a "530 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed without prior authentication" error.  Here are examples:
