Last updated on JANUARY 11, 2021

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version and later
Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Cloud Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

After configuring P6 Professional through Cloud Connect using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) / Single Sign On (SSO), configuring an alias to the cloud connect URL using the Database Configuration wizard generates the following error when testing connection:

"Bad alias/connection name."

The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is valid and does successfully allow a user to login through SAML even though the connection testing reports an error.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Configure P6 Professional Cloud Connect for SAML.
  2. Run the P6 Professional Database Configuration and create/update a Cloud Connect alias to connect to the cloud connect URL.
  3. Note the error which occurs.
