Error: "Bad alias/connection name" When Testing A P6 Professional Database Connection Using The P6 Professional Cloud Connect Driver Type Configured For SAML / SSO (Doc ID 2366387.1)

Symptoms

After configuring P6 Professional through Cloud Connect using SAML/SSO, configuring an alias to the cloud connect URL using the Database Configuration wizard generates the following error when testing connection:

Error

"Bad alias/connection name."

Note: the URL is valid and does successfully allow a user to login through SAML even though the connection testing reports an error.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Configure P6 Professional Cloud Connect for SAML
  2. Run the P6 Professional Database Configuration and create/update a Cloud Connect alias to connect to the cloud connect URL
  3. Note the error which occurs
