Need Replacement For UpdateRecords For AsAllocation (Doc ID 2369449.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 01, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Insurance Policy Administration J2EE - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

*** Detailed Problem Statement ***
The UpdateRecords attached business rule allowed various tables to be directly updated in V.8 and prior versions.
This rule was deprecated in a previous version of the system. However, no method has been provided to delete or shadow an Allocation.
Some Clients need the ability to shadow an Allocation record in certain situations where a particular type of Policy Allocation can be created and later turned off.

For example, a Monthly Charge Allocation can be provided to clients which allows them to specify a specific fund or group of funds from which monthly charges should be taken.
The client has the option to turn this option off at any point, returning to having monthly charges taken pro-rata from all funds in which the client is invested.
In such a circumstance, we need a way to change the existing Policy Allocation type to delete or deactivate the existing Allocation, without impacting other Policy Allocation types.

*** Expected Behavior ***
Some method should exist to replace the functionality provided by the UpdateRecords attached business rule to delete or shadow a particular Allocation.
Without this functionality, client cannot administer certain exiting policy features which were previously could administer in V.8.

Requesting this be reviewed as an enhancement or possibly a "gap" defect with previous versions.
