Last updated on MARCH 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Price Management - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Inability of validate user credentials in client RPM after enablement of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) at Oracle Traffic Director( OTD ) layer

Steps To Recreate:

1. Configure the SSL (use wild card entry in certificate).
2. Update the rpm JNLP file to pass new parameter to accept the wild card SSL settings.
3. RPM application should be able to accept new parameters and login properly without any issue as it support the SSL. However the new parameters in rpm JNLP are not picked up by program (as new java version doesn’t allow it due to security reason). Hence application fails to validate user credentials in client RPM after enablement of SSL (with wild card) and throws below error :

com.retek.platform.exception.RetekNetworkException: Server connection failed and retries were not successful.
