Can the *_CD col size be increased in precision from the standard Number(5) to Number(25)?

There is a requirement to create a number of custom simple dimensions (creating FSI_*_CD and FSI_*_MLS tables in Erwin) and load the data from Data Relationship Management (DRM). DRM has values greater than NUMBER(5). Can these new custom tables be built and registered as a simple dimension if the *_CD col is larger than NUMBER(5)?
These codes will be used in data filters in allocations and reporting.  New columns will be introduced into existing and or new instrument tables.  Currently not using the T2T but that is an option for future use.
The out of the box (OOB) domain data-type/size will not be changed.  At the moment, the request is only to allow new _CD columns on new DIM tables. Existing OOB Simple-dimensions tables/columns will not be altered.
